This week, while hosting our LIFTwarrior TikTok live sessions from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 8:45 AM, and interacting with the LIFT Team members across the different social media platforms we use, we discovered the importance to find time for yourself.
It's easy to fall into a negative mindset when our challenges and struggles hold us back, preventing us from stepping into the success we desire.
I enjoy taking the occasional day to go for a long bike ride or spend time on the sailboat, where I can relax or work on projects while soaking in the atmosphere. Amy, on the other hand, loves camping, being on the boat listening to music, playing tennis, and reading during her downtime.

What is the Key to Handling Life's Stress
If you haven't asked yourself this question then you are not ready to move into the next step of your life. Yes, I said that... I like to provoke a second level of thinking to create opportunities of success and breakthrough in your life. The cool part is you get to be the one to decide if you want to stay where you are or take the necessary steps to move forward.
Life can get incredibly busy from time to time and it can often feel like a race that never ends. With work, family, and social responsibilities, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and lose touch with who we really are and what our meaning in life is.
Taking time for ourselves is incredibly important for our mental health, our personal growth, and our overall well-being. This will help you stay focused on being Proactive and not just Reactive while experiencing challenging situations.
The Power of Self-Care for Yourself
Practicing self-care isn’t just a fancy trend—it’s an important practice that will help you recharge and reconnect with yourself.
When you become proactive with things that will help you relax and feel happy—like reading, journaling, going for a walk, exercising, or having a day out, it will lower your stress levels.
Creating quiet moments for yourself will give you the opportunity to reflect, (Check out our article Self Reflection), clear your mind, and take care of your mental health.
By making self-care a priority, you will create space to handle the difficult challenges of your daily life. This is a reminder that you deserve time and attention for yourself.
When you take that time, you will have a better understanding of what your needs, wants, and limits are, helping you face life with more strength and balance.
Building a Strong Self-Identity
Creating a solid self-identity is crucial in preventing feelings of isolation and being overwhelmed. When you have a clear sense of who you are, you are better equipped to face the challenges.
This self-awareness will allow you to set boundaries, say no when necessary, and prioritize your mental health. Building a strong self-identity involves exploring your interests, values, and your passions.
This might include that you try new activities that you are passionate about, pursuing new and different hobbies, or simply spending time self reflection. Journaling is a powerful tool for this exploration, helping to clarify your thoughts and emotions.
By understanding your uniqueness, you will create a stronger self-confidence and a sense of belonging, which are essential in overcoming feelings of not being good enough.

Schedule the all important, 'Me Time’
Treat your self-care as an appointment that cannot be missed. Block out time in your calendar to focus solely on yourself. I can not stress this enough of how important it is that you do this.
Set Healthy Boundaries For Yourself
Learn to say no, it's ok to say "NO". Protect your time and energy from commitments that do not serve your personal well-being. It is actually a very simple thing to do but sometimes we make it hard to do for ourselves, but it can be done. Just stay focused.
Unplug the Dang Thing
In this digital age we live in, constant connectivity can lead to burnout in so many areas of our lives. Take breaks from technology to reconnect with yourself and the world around you.
Practices like meditation or deep breathing can help ground you in the present moment, reducing anxiety and promoting self-awareness.
Seek Support From Friends and Family
Surround Yourself with Supportive Individuals who understand the importance of self-care and can encourage you on your journey. This can be a difficult adjustment especially if it means breaking away from those that do not support you or encourage you.
Taking time for yourself is not an indulgence; it is an important necessity. By prioritizing self-care in your journey and building a Strong Confident Self-Identity, you will create a powerful solution to the stresses of life that try to hold you back or knock you down.
These practices help you create discipline and resilience, which will reduce feelings of isolation, and ultimately lead to a more fulfilling and productive life.
Embrace the journey of self-discovery, and remember that investing in yourself is the first step toward thriving in a demanding harsh world which in return will create beauty in your journey.
