This week, while hosting our LIFTwarrior TikTok live sessions from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 8:45 AM, and interacting with the LIFT Team members across all the different social media platforms we use, we discussed “How Not To Walk On Eggshells”

It's time to embrace new perspectives and elevate your confidence!

This week, we’re talking about How to Stop Walking on Eggshells.

I know this can be tough to hear and even harder to do, depending on your daily environment.

But as you build your confidence and a stronger sense of self, it will get easier.

We will also discuss effective strategies to reclaim your identity, including evaluating the source of advice you receive, reflect on your core values, and practicing assertiveness. Learn to question assumptions and celebrate your progress as you navigate life's expectations with ease.

This isn’t about fighting with family, friends, or coworkers. It’s about responding in a calm and confident way that helps you take control of your choices.

A simple way to do this is by saying, "I appreciate what you're saying, and I’ll think about it."

Just that one sentence can change how people treat you and help you stand up for yourself.

It is ok to Not Be A People Pleaser!!

Do you want to stop walking on eggshells?

Do you want to live your life your way with confidence?

In a world full of opinions, advice, and rules, it's easy to feel like you have to be extra careful with what you say and do.

The pressure to meet others' expectations can feel overwhelming, making you doubt your choices. But remember, advice from others is just their opinion, not a rule you must follow.

When you see it this way, you can feel more confident and build a stronger sense of who you are.

It is important to understand the impact of the expectations of others.

Ever since we were young, we have been bombarded with conversations about how we should behave, what we should achieve, and who we ought to be and who we should be with. 

Family, friends, teachers, and society often share their beliefs and values with us, shaping what they expect from us. While they usually mean well, these expectations can sometimes hold us back from being ourselves and hinder breakthrough in our journey.

If we treat others’ opinions as the only truth, we might lose sight of what we truly want. This can lead to self-doubt, anxiety, and feeling like we’re not good enough. Over time, it can make every choice feel stressful, as if we’re always trying to avoid disappointing someone.

How do we change how you see it: Advice vs. Rules?


To navigate this challenging pattern, it’s vital to shift our perspective on how we receive what others tell us what we should or shouldn't do. Instead of seeing others' opinions as rules you must follow, think of them as ideas or perspectives to consider. This small change can help you feel more confident and in control of your own choices.

Here are a few things you can do to help you with this change.


Think about who is giving you advice and why

Are they sharing their own experiences, or are they letting their fears and worries influence what they say? Knowing this can help you decide if their advice really fits your life.

Set Personal Boundaries

Take time to understand what’s most important to you. What do you truly believe in? When you make choices based on your values, it becomes easier to handle others’ expectations without losing yourself.

Speak with Confidence

Stand up for yourself by tactfully saying what you think and feel. This will show others that you listen to them but will make your own choices.

Building Confidence Through Self-Discovery


Realizing that other people's opinions aren't rules helps you take back control of your choices. This is important for building confidence and knowing who you are and what you want.

Here are some simple steps to guide you on this journey.

Think for Yourself: 

When someone gives you advice or criticizes you, ask yourself if it matches your personal values and goals. If it doesn’t, it’s okay to move past it.

Learn from Mistakes: 

Mistakes will help you grow. Don’t be too hard on yourself—use them as life lessons instead of fearing what others think, after all it's your life not theirs.

Be Around Supportive People: 

Spend time with those who encourage you to be yourself. Good friends and mentors will support you without trying to control you.

Celebrate Your Wins: 

No matter how small they may be, recognize your achievements and successes. This will build your confidence and help you feel better about yourself.

When we see advice as suggestions or perspectives and not strict rules, we can stay true to ourselves and make choices that match our personal goals.

As we grow into who we really are in this beautiful journey of life, let’s remember that our own journey is ours to shape—without the pressure of others' expectations. By knowing ourselves and believing in ourselves, we can live our lives in a real and free way.
