Today We Discover The Foundation of Personal Growth: Understanding Mental Health.

This week, while hosting our LIFTwarrior TikTok live sessions from Monday to Friday, and interacting with the LIFT Team members across all the different social media platforms we use, we discussed The Foundation of Personal Growth: Understanding Mental Health.

In today’s crazy busy world, taking care of your mental health is absolutely crucial. It is the foundation of your overall well-being and it affects several areas of your life, this includes your relationships, nutrition, success with your career, and how you handle your finances. This week's article, "The Foundation of Personal Growth, Understanding Mental Health," we discuss why mental health is essential for your personal growth and how improving it can help you reach your full potential and improving your attitude in your journey. 

I asked a few of our kids and Amy what mental health means to them and they did not disappoint. The great news is their personal feedback is at the end of this article and before this weeks exercise. Yes, I said exercise, you paid for it so you get access to more involved content. 

So, why is Mental Health Important to us?

Mental health is more than just not having mental illness. It involves how we think, feel, interact with others and how we make decisions. Good mental health helps us embrace, adapt and overcome our challenges, build stronger relationships, and achieve the goals we set for ourselves. When Mental Health struggles hit us, they can possibly create problems not just for ourselves but also for those that are around us. 

What are some issues about Mental Health? 

Many people deal with mental health challenges that can hold them back. Issues like anxiety, depression, low self esteem and stress are common and can make life very difficult. This weeks LIFT article will help you understand these challenges, encouraging you to recognize your own personal feelings and experiences.

Simple Strategies for Improvement

We have identified the areas that are effected but let’s work together on improving your mental health.  After all, it is an involved journey and we offer practical tips to help you. It’s your responsibility to implement the process we share with you. These include mindfulness exercises, physical activities, talking to a therapist, and making time for your self-care. By taking small steps every day, you can build resilience and better handle life’s ups and downs.

The Importance of having a Community Support System. 

Having support from others is crucial for your mental health. Connecting with people who understand what you’re going through will make a big difference. This article highlights the need to create a supportive network, whether it’s friends, family, or even support groups, this will help you grow and heal.

As promised earlier, below is the feedback from asking a few of the kids and Amy what Mental Health means to them. We have life lessons during dinner to create a positive stronger connection with each other and to allow each of us to share our thoughts and perspectives. This is something we practice in our family life which allows our children to feel valued, included and appreciated. This builds their confidence and creates a stronger self identity. Try it in your family and see what breakthroughs and opportunities are established for everyone.

Our Lion's Stride Exercise

The Lion Stride refers to a manner of walking that is confident, powerful, and purposeful. It implies a strong, steady gait, often with long, decisive steps. The term evokes a sense of authority and self-assurance. (Google)

Our objective is for you to reflect on and implement strategies in the four key areas of Mental Health, Physical Health, Relationships, and simple Money Management tips to foster personal growth and community support.

You have joined our membership to gain access to our articles so let’s now implement our LIFT Lion Challenges and Exercises in your journey. 

For the next four weeks, you have the opportunity to focus on one key area each week, participating in specific activities designed to enhance your personal well-being and strengthen your connections with others.

So, let’s break it down and get started. 

This is your mission for you to become proactive if you choose to accept it, after all you are not only investing in LIFT but mainly for yourself. 

This week our focus is on our Mental Health.

Your first activity is to start a Breakthrough Journal, yes, I said a journal but don't roll your eyes and rule it out, I promise you it has more power than you think, it is worth it.

A simple notebook from the store will be perfect, just make sure you place a date for each entry and you write daily, preferably at the end of each day. When we coach others to do this we usually task a 30 day journal but let’s start with a week, if you feel comfortable doing a month go for it. The results will amaze you.

At the end of each day, take a moment to reflect and write out the following 3 assignments:

  1. A Challenge or Setback: Note something that tested you, caused frustration, or didn't go as planned. This could be a difficult conversation, a missed opportunity, or a personal struggle.

  2. A Positive Experience or Growth Moment: Reflect on something uplifting or a small win you had, a breakthrough, a lesson learned, or a moment of joy. We want you to recognize and focus on how you navigated a challenge or made progress.

  3. Three things you are thankful for: and reflect on how they positively impact your life.

  My life coach's badassery skills are kicking in here. Just keeping it real with you.   

By practicing these simple exercises you will be encouraged to explore a deeper self awareness and discover a deeper meaning to your life. You will begin to acknowledge both your challenges and your victories that you are experiencing, you will then start to establish personal growth and resilience in your journey and that is what it’s all about. Why else would you be here?
