Today We Learn The Importance of “Stop Pretending, Just Be Yourself to Make Real Changes in Your Own Life.”

This week, while hosting our LIFTwarrior TikTok live sessions from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 8:45 AM, and interacting with the LIFT Team members across all the different social media platforms we use, we discussed “Stop Pretending To Be Someone or Something You Are Not.”

Sometimes you will feel like you have to act a certain way to be liked, accepted or successful, especially around others looking for their approval or wanting to be accepted. We all constantly see people online living their so-called big and best lives, giving upbeat motivational speeches, or showing off their daily routines with videos. It is crazy to think, but sometimes you will start to get the feeling to start to copy what they are doing for yourself, thinking it will help you get ahead and start experiencing a different type of success than before. But pretending to be someone you’re not, or forcing a fake motivation, doesn’t always lead to real genuine change. It will lead to stress, confusion, and a feeling of being empty inside.

If you want real progress or success in your life, you have to stop pretending to be something you're not—and start being truly honest with yourself and start living your life, which is actually your best life.

Let's Take A Look At What False Motivation Is About.

False motivation is when you change who you are and start acting like you’re excited or driven, but deep down you know you’re not.

It will look something like the following:

Pushing yourself to do things you don’t really care about.

Saying positive words you don’t truly believe.

Copying someone else's habits or goals.

Doing things just to impress others.

It might seem like you’re working hard towards something greater, but you're not being real to yourself. You’re just acting, going through the motions, and that kind of energy will not last long.

Pretending Comes at a Cost We Don't Realize.

When you pretend to be someone else, you risk losing who you really are in your journey. You start to feel tired, lost, unhappy, and not motivated. Even if you accomplish your goals, they won’t feel good, especially if they don’t match your true self. You might look successful to others, but inside, you’ll feel stuck and unmotivated.

If you want to experience real change or real breakthrough in your life, you have to be honest and true to who you are.

Why Being Yourself Matters

Big life changes happen when your actions match what your heart feels. When you stop pretending, you save energy and feel more at peace with yourself. You stop trying to impress others and start focusing on what really matters to you.

Being real will help you

Feel more confident

Set better goals

Build deeper relationships

Enjoy your journey

Let's Discuss How to Stop Pretending and Be Real

Here are simple ways to live more honestly:

Take time to think

Spend time alone. Ask yourself: What do I really want for myself and what am I willing to do to get what I want? What makes me feel good and true to myself?

Don’t compare yourself to others

Everyone lives a different path. Just because something works for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for you.

Decide what success means to you

For some, success means having peace. For others, it means experiencing freedom, love, or even living a healthier lifestyle. Take a moment and discover what this means to you in your journey.

Be honest about how you feel

It’s okay to say, “I’m tired,” or “I don’t like this.” Admitting the truth is the first step to changing it. Just be honest with yourself.

Take small steps

Start with one small, real action each day. It could be setting boundaries, speak your truth, or do something that you truly enjoy doing. We always say to “Start Living Your Passions.” Click that link and enjoy last weeks article.

It's ok that you don’t have to act like someone else to change the course of your life. You don’t need fake energy or someone else's dreams. All you need is the courage to be yourself, stop and listen to your heart, and take real steps forward into this beautiful world of unknowns.

Because the real you will always be more than enough, you just need to accept it.
